Karl Jenkins' The Peacemakers

  • First St. Andrew's United Church 350 Queens Avenue London, ON, N6B 1X6 Canada (map)

The Senior Choir of First St. Andrew’s, with guest musicians and soprano soloist Sonja Gustafson will present this meaningful and timely work as part of the Music at FSA concert series.

Karl Jenkins’ (the most performed living composer in the world) choral work The Peacemakers, features texts from Gandhi, Martin Luther King, the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, Anne Frank and Mother Teresa, as well as words from the Bible and the Qur'an with some new text specially written by Terry Waite. The Peacemakers is a work extolling peace. One line from Rumi (the 13th-century Persian mystic poet) sums up the ethos of the work: "All religions, all singing one song; Peace be with you."
